SEA PROJECT
For the PRESERVATION e REGENERATION of the nature of Ilha Grande, we encourage society through community actions and the dissemination of relevant content on sustainability for the local community
REGULAR BEACH CLEANUPS
KEEPING THE HOUSE CLEAN," referring to the beaches as the shared home for everyone. Keeping the beaches clean is not only a responsibility of the locals but a collective commitment from visitors as well! COLLECTION, RECYCLING, and PROPER DISPOSAL of solid waste in partnership with the local community and volunteers, with the support of Paraíso Azul Retiro, OPAOMA, Marulho Eco, and Eco Angra.
PAMPHLETS - FROM HOMES TO ECOCENTERS
The NGO Somos Natureza understands that small changes in habits and attitudes can regenerate, preserve, and save our planet. Our contribution is to disseminate information and promote best practices for the community.
A NEW LIFE FOR WASTE
Transformation of the collected plastic, specifically polymers with numbers 2 and 5, for processing through a plastic shredder machine and transforming it into marketable objects. A new, sustainable, and long-lasting use is what we aim for in this project, turning collected plastic into products that can be useful to the community. The project is currently in the implementation phase
COMMUNITY PROJECT
"CAIÇARA CULTURE MUST BE VALUED AND SHOULD NOT BE ERASED."
With a focus on this philosophy, we seek, through actions that value ancestral knowledge sustainably and respectfully, to disseminate the culture to future generations.
REVITALIZATION OF THE ABANDONED SCHOOL
A fundamental project for the local community that will serve both the new generation and the elderly of the Island! Through collaboration between the NGO Somos Natureza, AMPEE, and the community, we aim to revitalize the school that has been abandoned for more than 10 years, turning it into a center for culture, health, education, and recycling point.

AGROFORESTRY PROJECT
Intending to provide practical eco-socio-economic actions for the local community, this project intends to control invasive species, aiding in the preservation of the remaining native vegetation in the higher parts of the island, as well as contributing to popular education.
JACKFRUIT PROCESSING
We have developed this PROMISING Project to generate INCOME for the local community of the Island, in addition to COMBATING the waste of this abundant food in the region and contributing to controlling the expansion of this invasive species, preserving the native forest of the region.
GARDEN AND REFORESTATION
A community garden amid native forest benefiting residents and reforestation initiated in areas surrounding Paraiso Azul Retiro guesthouse. The reforestation of native species has already had positive impacts: Preservation of Biodiversity: The planting of native species has contributed to the preservation of local fauna and flora. Ecosystem Recovery: Degraded areas have been restored, improving the quality of the natural environment. Community Engagement: The reforestation initiative has involved the local community in conservation activities.
CONNECT PROJECT
Integration, connection, collaborative efforts, exchange of experiences, establishment of partnerships, empowerment of pre-existing practices, and lived experiences. A single purpose: PRESERVATION.
BREATHE and EXCHANGE. These are the verbs that guide CONNECT in our events.
SOMOS ILHA GRANDE FORUM
A PHYSICAL AND TEMPORAL SPACE for the meeting of various stakeholders on Ilha Grande who are engaged in the pursuit of sustainable development, with a focus on nature preservation, respect for the traditions and way of life of traditional Caiçara peoples and ecologically responsible tourism.
