WHY?
The island is approximately 193 km², 95% of which is covered by the Atlantic Forest, considered the second most biodiverse ecosystem in the world. With more than 100 incredible beaches, bays and coves with crystal-clear waters, it is home to a marine sanctuary with coral reefs all along its coastline and an exuberant forest.

TRANSFORMATION
YOUR DONATION WILL HELP US TO:
WORK with local communities and tourists on environmental awareness, such as separating garbage from recyclable materials
CREATE Eco-Points on the beaches of Ilha Grande to facilitate the correct disposal of recyclable waste
CARRY OUT regular beach clean-ups, sorting and separating types of garbage
DESTINATE recyclables correctly and regularly by boat from the island to the our partner cooperative on the continent
RESIGNIFY the plastics collected using our tri-modular recycling machine (shredder and extruder), transforming them into highly durable functional objects such as beams and rafters for use by local communities.

SUSTAINABLE SUMMER, our main project, aims not only to mitigate the environmental impacts of the high season, with its significant increase in the generation of waste in the seas and hillsides, but also to promote a lasting cultural change towards sustainability by PRESERVING and REGENERATING the nature of Ilha Grande, exchanging relevant content and encouraging the community to take sustainable action.
