To build a strong foundation among society, the government, businesses, and organizations operating in Rio de Janeiro - especially in the Costa Verde region - to create synergy for collective actions. We aim to unite our voices and ideas for the preservation and responsible and sustainable use of the ecosystem for the future of humanity.
CONNECTION
Somos Natureza aims to create spaces for exchanges, meetings, and connections among different groups, organizations, companies, and collectives in Rio de Janeiro, particularly on the Brazilian coast. The goal is to gather efforts, share experiences, establish partnerships, and empower existing practices of preservation and sustainability.
The NGO focuses on fostering collaboration between different groups and initiatives to drive actions and empower traditional communities.
Operating the MAR project from the headquarters on Ilha Grande, Somos Ilha Grande - Somos Natureza is committed to work collecting and recycling solid waste, especially plastic. This is done through partnerships with OPAOMA, Paraíso Azul Retiro, and Marulho Eco.
The project involves collecting polymers number 2 and 5 for processing through plastic shredding machine. The transformed materials are then repurposed and made available for commercial use.
