This Forum was conceived to allow a physical and temporal space for the meeting of several actors from Ilha Grande who are engaged in the search for the sustainable development of the Island, with a view to preserving nature, respecting the traditions and way of life of the caiçara peoples. traditional and ecologically responsible tourism.

SEA PROJECT

With headquarters for the operations of the MAR project in Ilha Grande, Somos Ilha Grande is willing to work in the collection and recycling of solid waste, especially plastic, through a partnership with OPAOMA, Paraíso Azul Retiro and Marulho Eco. 

The project foresees the collection of polymers number 2 and 5 for processing by means of a perfect plastic crushing machine owned by Marulho Eco and its transformation into small marketable objects.

AGROFOREST OF THE PARISH

In the field of preservation, Somos Ilha Grande manages a considerable area of Paraíso Azul Retiro, a land with secondary vegetation of the Atlantic Forest where an agroforestry will be inserted.

The NGO acts in consultancy and also in practical actions in the territory in the context of controlling invasive species, preserving the native vegetation that still exists in the higher parts.

In addition, the NGO intends to act for the popular education of nearby communities for the preservation of the biome.
